CityTag

CityTag is designed to help you find the best info about town, local to where you are - on the spot! Restaurants, public toilets, special events and cheap menus, all within a stone's throw. Unlike some other search engines, we don't expect you to drive miles for a curry that starts with an "A", and we'll even do our best to keep the menu up to date, just in case you don't like what's on offer. We also show the things others don't think of; off leash dog parks, Exeloo's, BBQ's ….you know, stuff you know is out there but can't quite put your finger on. Local to your suburb, or wherever you happen to be.

You can invite your mates to join through Facebook and Twitter, so you can show them what you've tagged and where they should be checking out next! Or, maybe they'll do the tagging - it's called "creating a Taglet". It's easy and fun, and your stuff is then up there for the world to see. When you find something rare, create a Taglet!

Once you experience a place you can find it on CityTag, you can thumb it up, or down - a bit like rating an eBay seller. This way, you'll help others have a great experience, or waste less of their time. Keeps things real, we think.

What drives us? CityTag uses the Creative Commons license, so you can feel confident that your contribution will stay in the public domain - you can't be edited out! So, we have a few etiquette rules about what you can and can't say (see our Terms and Conditions), but in summary, Share, Remix, Reuse — Legally, in the public domain.

We have a little office at Level 6, 94 Elizabeth Street, in the bowels of Melbourne town, which was the inspiration for all the little places that we've found buried in nooks, cranny's and alley way. Places that people know exist, but can never quite find… and we think, miss out on!
