I know it is starting to sound like a Frankenstein motor with the Chevy rod journals and the 440 crank, but the key to making this all work is a fantastic work of art from Manley Performance. Their stroker kits are reasonably priced and an excellent way to get 450 inches from a B engine. You can make a lot of horsepower with a stock stroke 383 even. Typically these kinds of conditions would doom it to the junk pile, but for me it was perfect. So whether it is a street 318 or a blown nitro Hemi, each choice requires different parts, even if the mechanics are basically the same. This rod is a very nice design and is rated for 750 horsepower. I'm a huge fan of just a basic re-ring. The gap in the heat shield should be pointing upward.

Magnum Basically the Magnum needs the same advance curve as the A-engine.
